Meatbreak Unbelievable album. Only just discovered it - where has it been for the last two years?!

Hiding.

Not any more - this is going right up there with Ash Borer, Fell Voices, Sadhaka, WITTR, and Fluisteraars, in my 'seriously special' listening pile. Favorite track: Summon the Storms.

JayCee Absolutely mind blowing. The album didn't grab me straight away but when it did, boy, it was all I wanted to listen to.

The sound is so raw. I'm simply floored by how good this album is.

I can't wait for it to be released on vinyl.

Right, let me get back to listening to "Thrones".

Maxime Simoncelli A very nice evolution from Yearning, the acoustic part really stepped up. Incredible aural experience.

e-user Extremely powerful, deeply trance-inducing Black Metal that gets you addicted after a short time of listening. Not easy to get into right away, but just give it a couple of minutes.

about

All yearning embittered, the flesh is shed, the Journey ends. AURVANDIL returns with "Thrones" carved in stone and snow, distillating the essence of soaring, northern purity throughout four hymns of Iron and Ice, four funereal storms summoned. Skyclad and possessed, AURVANDIL weaves a wyrd of holocaust.
Glacial Black Metal.

“Here, the contrast between light and dark is precisely what pushes this album beyond simply “another black metal album.” It is that discovery and purge of the darkest recesses of consciousness and existence that continue to push black metal not into one direction but many. For Thrones, that pathway leads to places whose most illuminated corners offer a beautiful but brief reprieve from the utter obscurity that awaits on the other side of melody.” STEEL FOR BRAINS

“A galloping and brilliant offering of black metal from this project that totally took me to another place as a listener. It's rare for a band I've never heard of to just come in and impress me in such a fashion, but that's exactly what happened here.”
